I have a bold 9780, last night i accidently hit the mute key and now i have no sound at all. When i press the mute key it just keeps putting me into standby mode, no volume comes back at all?
How do i get sound back on and how do i find out what OS im on? x

As far as OS, look in options and find the About screen. Or, compose an email or open note pad and type *myver* without the *'s.

About the problem with the mute key, did you drop the device or get it wet, or expose it to moisture like in a sweaty pocket? Are you running any third-party apps that customize button functions?

If you think the problem may be moisture, you need to remove the battery asap and dry the device thoroughly.

Are you sure you're pressing the right keys? Mute is on right, lock is on the left. Your mute key, no matter how damaged, should not be putting your phone into lock (which is what I think you mean when you say standby.)

In addition to the steps listed above, you can press alt+shift+H and get your OS version there as well (read the app version line.)
