This is fairly standard for email applications. You need to change what you have in your contacts list to be the "polite" version in the Title\First Name\Surname fields.
Now there are ways to kind of do what you are after. It depends on exactly how and where you want to use this other "title" for your contact.
Lets assume "Fred Bloggs" is in your address book. But you think he is a ID10T. So previously you called him "ID10T" in his name field. Whoops.
Now, if you want to still be reminded he is an ID10T when he calls, use the trick I do with clients. Put the ID10T comment into the COMPANY field. This then will show on screen when he calls as "Fred Bloggs" and "ID10T" is written underneath.
This trick also works when searching the contacts list.
A second trick could be to use the NICKNAME field. This is a custom field that you would add when editing the contact details for Fred. Just under the Titile, First Name, Surname, Company section of the contacts page you will see and <Add Field> button. This can be used to add a Nickname.
A Nickname does not appear on the screen of the phone or in the email, but can be used to search.
Best thing to do is experiment with your own contact details in the Contacts list of your phone. Then you can see exactly what happens before you make an embarrassing mistake. | |
