Default Demise of Google Synch for BB

I just was informed when reinstalling google synch to my 9780 that after Sept. 1, google synch will no longer be available for download nor will it be supported. I use Thunderbird email, so Outlook is not an option for me Where do we go from here?

Not good news. What about the people who are using it now? will it continue to work? I like having all my contacts, email and cal synced with my pb and bb but also having it backed up online. Just hope there will be an easy work around so I don't have 2 start again using something else. If not what else could I use? Ideally just moving my data over easily?

Unless you have multiple calendars you want to sync from one Google ID just use the native sync function of BIS?

The native sync function of BIS works well. It take a little more time to sync from web to your BB (sometimes it takes 10 ou 15 min). From your BB to web it is fast. It is a pity that we dont have multiple calendars syncing this way, you have to create an email for each calendar if you want, wich is annoying. The other way is using third part apps (syncmatc, thinkpost, etc..)

    Good riddance.

Just use the native sync, it is far more reliable.
