Charging Complete sound -- can you turn it off?

Well, here I am at 2:35AM, awake because my freaking Blackberry likes to scare the crap out of me when I'm JUUUUST about asleep by making that annoying "Hey, I'm done charging!" chime... I've been meaning to post about this for ages now, and it has always been a problem for me that no profile (not even SILENT stifles it) or "bedside mode" seems to stop it. Unless I want to turn the phone completely off (I don't...), I can't seem to find an option to turn off this specific and startling sound/chime!!!

So, anyone out there know how? I can't tell you how many times I've been heart-pumpingly startled out of a blissful "nearly asleep" mode by this stupid chime!!!

I've never heard it and I'm sleeping next to my PB and BB (never trust anyone). My soundprofile is a modified ''phone calls only'' where it only vibrates as I get a phone call, with other notifications it will just show up the LED.

Or maybe I'm a sleepyhead...

Have you installed a Theme or something? That isn't a standard sound that is on by default.

On my phone I have BeBuzz installed. If I go into the phone's OPTIONS menu and then SOUNDS AND RING TONES then Sounds for Selected Profiles scroll to the bottom and there is Other Applications - Notifications and in here I see BeBuzz - Battery Fully Charged Alert

Nope, I don't have BeBuzz or any battery program or anything like that. It has always done it, even 100% stock, theme or no theme. Maybe it's a T-Mo thing? The phone is right next to my head on the nightstand. It's not normally that loud, but when you're almost asleep in the dead of night, it is loud enough to startle you.

Did you at least look at that part of the sounds menus I described above? See if there are any entries there you can adjust? This isn't a specific BeBuzz menu, it is a Blackberry thing.

Try checking your Event Sounds option. If it is on, turn it off.

Event sounds alert you when you turn on or turn off your BlackBerry® device, when the battery power level is full or low and when you connect or disconnect a USB cable or accessory to or from your device.

1) On the Home screen or in a folder, click the Options icon.
2) Click Accessibility.
3) Select the Event Sounds check box.
4) Press the Image of the Menu key key > Save.

MADBRADNYC -- I'd kind if like to keep the plugging in sound so that I know it is correctly seated on the caddy charger thingy, but if this stops the "finished charging" chime, I'll be happy!!! I'll try it and let you know. Thanks!

BatteryWatch is a (free) app that lets you know whenever your battery charging starts and ends. You can configure these alerts.

I forgot to come back on here and say MADBRADNYC's advice worked perfectly! I can now sleep soundly without being jolted awake by my BB finishing charging, LOL! Thanks again!

I have mine beep once it finishes charging and it doesn't disturb my sleep. But I guess one's preference is different than others. I would prefer a whistle or vibrate.

Get it while you can.... A good night's sleep can be hard to come by....
