Default bold 9780 unlock without dedicated button

I have a feeling that very soon my lock/unlock button is about to die, since its harder to click
,You can barely hear the click sound, and it feels sticky. So, is there alternate way to unlock the phone without using
The holster?I hate holsters...comparing it to the mute button on the right ,its like new, but this unlock button worries me.
I know there's a way to lock with holding A ,is there something alike?
    Thanks in advance
    Omer

The A key, in OS 6, only works to lock the phone. It doesn't unlock.

There are third party apps that allow you to map the lock feature (amongst many others) to other keys. One such app I use is MediaKeyBooster--great little app.

Use password lock, you won't need to use the lock/unlock button anymore.

use password lock and you can use your convenience key to lock it. replacing the lock button isnt too hard. its just a small button that needs to be replaced. probably worn out.

    Optional, but not needed.

Your carrier could fix the misaligned membrane on the lock button. My old blackberry is the same way, but I have learned a way to realign it, just palm it on the other side so it actually realigns. Might need to do it multiple times to get it right. Or just let the repair shop do it.
