I am on my third bold 9780 since my upgrade last November, I upgraded from a bold 9000 on Orange UK and since then I find that the phone seems to switch itself off intermittently. I use the phone to run my business and its a nuisance to loose calls from customers.

I am on an Orange business tariff and they don't even seem to make any attempt to rectify the problem they just replace the phone chassis with a new one, but surely there must be something causing this problem as the latest phone did it to me again today and I missed a call.

Is this a common problem or am I just unlucky with the handsets I have had because I am really sick of this phone after a supposed "upgrade" from a Bold 900 which caused me no problems in the 18 months I had it.

Btw way i have done all the battery pulls OS downloads etc that are usually recommended already.

how come you're on your third 9780? what happened to the first 2?

have you tried cleaning the battery contacts?? mmm true what happent to the other two??

I should have made it clearer that Orange have replaced the first two with the same problems. Every time I ask for technical help they just replace the handset but I would much rather find out why the phone is doing this than constantly replacing phones.

Is this a regular problem or is it just me?

I have bought Bold 3 9780 4 months back and I am using 6.0 Bunble 905 (V6.0.0294, platform 6.5.0.54) in my phone. I am also facing the same problem.. sometimes it goes completely off with red light blinking on and restart. I have pull off my battery and then the phone starts back in normal mode.

I have replaced with OG battery, not a new one but from another 9780 phone, which is also 6 months used (my second phone), but the problem is same.

Do you suggest to load some specific OS software version or please give me some another solution.. This is making me mad now..

the latest OS for 9780 is v6.0.0.723
