I am a BB newb , I admit that.

I have a Bold 9780, and it says the following under device versions

6.0 2921 (v6.0.0.666, platform 6.6.0.241)

I am assuming this means my OS is .666

I understand he latest version is .668? But it wont let me upgrade/update the software?

How can I do this?

I am using a mac, if that make any diffrence

If you have a Mac, then you can only update to OS version officially released by YOUR carrier.

To simplify things for you, get access to a Windows PC. Load os .706 (skip the .668) via AppLoader (after you do a Full Backup using Desktop Manager). You can do a backup in your Mac using the RIM Desktop Manager you've loaded onto it.

Then - install os .706 on a Win PC, delete the vendor file. Use AppLoader to install the new os.

As such, you wouldnt need to restore (since apploader will do it all for you).

Just in case things go wrong, you DO have a backup in your Mac to restore back the BB.

By the way, when you guys say delete the vendor file do you mean on the bb device or in the instal dir? I will upgrade soon. Thanks

The vendor .xml file is found in the PC program files.
