I was wondering how RIM releases a new (or in this case upgraded) device. I know for the Torch and OS6 they had the press conference and meeting. Will they do the same for this or will it just come out. I wanted to know if there were any clues to look for in regards to a ATT release. I am holding off on buying the 9700 for the 9780 but would love to have an idea of how long it will take to come out.

Also is it really for sale in Canada? If so wouldn't that mean it should be comming to the US really soon?

Release is not going to be like next week. You need to stay tuned here as this is where you will hear about the impending release. Rumor has it to be released in October now but it could be September or even November/December.
