9780 on AT&T?
Hey guyss. Okay, so at the end of the month I can upgrade my phone and I really want the Bold 9780. I'm willing to wait a few months, but I just want to know if it's coming to AT&T. Anyone have any information?

Have you actually like um......looked at these forums before you just post? Not only does a handful of topics pop up after you create your topic, but you should probably think. Hey, maybe Im not the only one with a phone that wants to upgrade to the next current bold? Maybe I should look around and see whats up?
And lets see whats up
AT&T is not getting the Bold refresh, because its too late and they don't want to confuse customers and they would rather push the Torch.
Not to mention, just hold onto your phone for a few more months, you've already held onto it for 2 years, and there will be a brand new Bold. Check the new forums - 03-08-2011, 07:21 PM

I have an AT&T branded 9780.
They were initially scheduled to be released by this point, however with the new Bold Touch, A.K.A. BlackBerry Dakota due to be rolled out to the masses later this year the decision was made to not release the 9780. Speculation is that AT&T may release the 9780 but only after it releases the newer Dakota. But in all honesty, with the Dakota being released with OS 6.1 and the 9780 with OS 6, it would be a step backwards especially when you consider that the standard Blackberry OS we have become used to will eventually be replaced with OS 7, which is known by a better name, QNX.

so do you know how long it's gonna be before OS7 comes out? and Upcoming AT&T phones - Phone Arena said that it would be coming out soon. and couldn't you just upgrade to 6.1 when it comes out? im only asking this because i do not want any touch screen like on the dakota

to the OP, save yourself the trouble and just purchase a Canadian Version of 9780.
you can get one on E-bay and you'll be glad you got it sooner.

The problem is that there is no certainty that AT&T will even release the 9780. I realize that you don't want a touchscreen, but the Dakota has both a touchscreen and physical keyboard with the same form factor as the Bold 9000. I wouln't look for OS 7 until late 2011.

The only non-touch model coming out will be the Curve series, Apollo and Sedona. You can search for their rumored specs, but iirc it has an 800mhz proc, 512 RAM, and OS 6.1. Everything else is going touch. The new "Storms" (won't be called a Storm), the curve Touch which is a full touch device, and the Bold Touch, the hybrid touchscreen with non-sliding keyboard and of course, Torch 2.
