Default 9780 duplicating contacts after sync

    So here's what's going on:
I'm syncing this phone for my grandfather. He owns his own company, so you can imagine that he's got a lot of contact data (1,337 contact cards). In Outlook, his contact data is pristine. One card for each contact containing all the information that he needs to know. This can and sometimes does include, multiple (4+) phone numbers, multiple email addresses, as well as a categorization, and sometimes, extensive contact notes.

We've recently upgraded to Blackberry Desktop Software version 7.0 on a new installation of Windows 7. The Outlook contacts imported into Outlook just fine, but when we sync the Blackberry, we get duplicate contacts in the address book. Here's the procedure:

-Connect BB to computer, BB Dt opens up and asks what we want to do. I go into the settings to make it sync everything *one-way* from the computer to the device, wiping out everything currently on it.
-Blackberry performs the sync without a problem. Disconnect blackberry, check contacts integrity, everything is properly in place. This is where the issue begins.
-Re-connect blackberry to change settings to *two-way* sync. Save settings and sync. During the sync process, we get a notification that there is conflicting data in the contacts. The first time we did this, we allowed it to sync anyway, but all this did was duplicate close to each contact in Outlook.

Looking closer, it seems that the contact data sent back the computer by the Blackperry only contains one or two entries of data. For example, the original card has three phone numbers, a home email, work email, and mobile email, along with contact notes. The duplicated contact card sent back to the computer only has a work email and a single phone number.

We are both baffled by this and we cannot understand what or how this is going on.
Does anyone have any ideas? He is leaving for a two-week business trip this weekend and believe me, this issue grinds his gears big time.

If he has a Google account he might be getting replication for his contacts in Google. I had this problem until I logged into Google and corrected the duplication.
