Please note, this is NOT a theme. This is a theme add-on designed to compliment OS6 themes.

    Hey everybody,

I know a lot of people are running OS6 themes on their devices, or are using themes that use OS6 style icons. Some of the best selling themes on the market right now are OS6 lookalike themes, but they're missing something: a real updating calendar icon.

As many of you know, the calendar icon on OS6 dynamically updates, and so we wanted to bring this functionality to OS5 users.

RealCal OS6 Edition is an exact replica of the updating calendar icon found in OS6. It's got great performance, a small memory footprint, and it's super simple to set up. Once you install RealCal, it automatically takes over your original, non-updating calendar icon and replaces it with ours. It even works with hidden today themes!

We used actual OS6 graphics to build it, and it's a pixel perfect replica of the real updating OS6 calendar icon. RIM themselves couldn't have done a better job.

So if you're using an OS6 theme or a theme with OS6 style icons and you want to complete the look, you need RealCal OS6 Edition.

And of course, it's from BlingBerry Themes, so you know it comes backed with the best technical support available. If you ever have a problem with any of our products, you can contact us: [email protected]. We respond to every inquiry personally, and often within 24 hours.

Some additional pictures of the rest of the theme would be great. One of the best OS6 themes is Dream Torch. Their developer has set the bar high for OS6 themes. If this one does not meet that standard, then to be honest, the Cal feature is not going to be much of a hit with this one.

Sorry, I guess I should have made it more clear.

This isn't a theme, this is an application designed to compliment all of the OS6 themes out there. It works with all of them, even Dream Torch. So if you want Dream Torch to have a real updating calendar icon, this is your chance.

I've added a big red notice at the top of the post for other users. (=

    Hi Hastings,

Maybe you should also post this in the "third party app" section of this forum.

    Thanks guys/gals! (=

I agree, RIM should have implemented this a long time ago, so we figured it was a good opportunity to give people what they want. Just about every theme out there is using OS6 icons, so it makes sense.

    Glad you're all enjoying it.

We have an update coming soon that will add a RealCal section to your "Options" menu. Inside, you'll be able to turn it on / off so if you change themes and the OS6 icon doesn't match, you can just switch it off and use the default theme calendar icon.

We're trying to keep this app ridiculously simple for performance reasons, so other than improving performance and basic optimization we won't be adding a ton of features in the next update.

Looks like RIM implemented this in os6 for the 9700. Using it right now and the calendar icon updates with the date.

    Definitely!

I mention that in the first post. We built RealCal to bring that feature to OS5 users who won't get an update.
