Sidebar themes are rare, and this is a nice one.

I know the wallpaper has to be shaded somewhat so the today text is easier to read. Is there a way to have this come up with the today text on the HT version?

There's the same overlay on all versions, it's always there, if you change wallpapers you'll see it's shaded over still.

The original post is over a year old, so no, it probably isn't free anymore. Doesn't change the fact it is still an awesome theme. It's worth the purchase.
