    Default will not load contacts

    hello

I backed up my 9000 and used the same file to load on my new 9700

everything is there, but no contacts? empty?

I tried the current device to new device option as well..everything copied except the most important - contacts phone contacts ("call from contacts" empty)

the only error I get is " new device does not support on board memeory" what is this??? so it copied docs, PDFs into a cab file, not on the phone
I have a 2Gig empty chip inserted into the 9700

I also enable all memory functions

    in a hurry and frustrated

    any help?

Make sure your new phone is not set up to auto sync with Google. If it is, you have to disable it before you do a restore or else the contacts list won't copy to the new phone.

    Default not transferring contacts

    thanks for your help

yes, first, i went into e-mail set up and sync with my GMAIL account manually
then I used the backup file.. I guess I should not have manually sync GMAIL

my bold 9000 backup file, has sync enabled with GMAIL ( in the backup file) that is how I had the bold 9000 set up

OK, where do I go to de-sync it? I looking around for this now

maybe I should just factory reset?

When you go to manage email settings and log into the gmail account, down at the bottom should be sych options. Make certain it's off and leave it off UNLESS you keep all of your contacts on you Gmail account. Once you turn off the auto synch, you should be able to copy contacts from your backup file.
