Default Why does it take so long for the battery to charge

Is it just me, or does it take forever to charge the battery.

Coming from an 8310, charging via a laptop with USB would take about an hour, 9700......close to 3hrs?? Does this make sense??

Are you charging with the same laptop USB that took an hour with the 8310.

If your 9700 battery was empty or close to it 2-3 hours is not unreasonable. Much depends on how much power is remaining in the battery when you put it on charge. Mine takes about 30-40 minutes to go from 50-60% to full.

You got to make sure your USB is powered up by installing the Desktop Manager.

It's probably the USB port you're using, try connecting the cable to a different port, some laptops come with 2.0 and 1.0 USB ports.

Same laptop, obviously different USB, but I can't install DM on my work laptop, we use the web based one instead since we are BES.

Was wondering if this is a battery issue or normal....I'm hoping battery!

Sounds to me like somehow your USB got set back to the lower power mode instead of the higher powered up mode needed for rapid charging. You might be able to get the power back via Windows

most batteries need at least 3-5 hours to charge fully. I just got the seido Extended 1750ma battery and love it. I use my phone all day everyday so its nice to have the extra juice when needed.
