I've been sitting here for 20 minutes in increasing frustration as my BB grinds away. I'm only syncing about a gig of mp3s -- my old iPod mini will do this in less than a minute!!

Here are the particulars:

BB Bold 9700
Connected via Micro-USB cable to 2011 MacBook Pro (13-inch)
Syncing with BB Desktop Software version 2.3.1
Synching to an iTunes playlist

The dialog box is just showing the candy-striped "progress" bar, with the message "preparing to sync media."

Do I have to leave this thing syncing overnight for a lousy one gig of media?

I clicked stop. Now, for the last five minutes, it's been spinning around with the "Cancelling" message. Are you *$&@ing kidding me? No wonder RIM is tanking.

I usually just throw the MP3's right on the memory card. I don't do it via DM, just with a memory card reader. Put that in, and then drag and drop the files I want. Goes pretty fast if you ask me. I have never tried to sync a playlist though.
