Default white screen after drop, new screen fix??

    afternoon all,
wifey was using the video on the phone and daughter in a strop swiped it onto the floor, on picking it up was on a white screen, batt pulls did nothing, a quick google on how to dismantle it and popped it apart, popped all the connections off etc, tried the small slithers of electrical tape method too and no change,
now the phones out of warranty so no point in trying for replacement from carrier, (upgrade due in october) have pin swapped her to my old curve 8900 for now to keep her going,

question is, what do you think the chances of a replacement screen fixing the issue?? you can see the screen changing to pink lines when you hit the blackberry button or call button etc. so am guessing its more a screen issue than OS, (.600 i think its on, updated both my torch and hers a While back, she was happy with it so didnt update it any further!). have popped the screen off and checked the numbers (001/111) to make sure i get the right one but before i ordered one thought id ask the 9700 faithfull!

seems to me likely a screen fault but want to make sure! ;-)
Ta muchly in advance for your time!

    Timmo.

Assuming that there are no other broken parts, I would say that screen replacement would fix the problems. There should be no os related problem in your case. Double-checking the screen number/series is a wise step. Good luck mate

Well if I was you and planned on upgrading in October anyway, I'd probably just rock the 8900 til then. I guess if screen cost isn't an issue then do what you like. I couldn't be bothered replacing my screen if I had a backup and my upgrade was less than six months away. Especially if there was no guarantee a screen replacement would rectify the problem. Good luck tho. I've never used the 8900 but have heard it was a great device. I can also understand how a person would want their 9700 to be "usable". I hope everything works out for you.
