Well folks... Guess this is goodbye...
Sorry to say that after doing a strong once over on the Torch, and giving
an Android a shot (Let me tell ya, don't know what is so great there) I have gone to the dark side and gotten an iPhone 4...
I could do the usual it is this and that, but bottomline it does what I want with less complication. I hoped the Torch would measure up, but it just didn't. Maybe next year...
Hope to be back in the future!

Not to be a d-bag, but the iPhone 4 just wasn't good. If I never ever had to use the iPhone 4 as a phone I would have loved it. The display was fantastic, as were the camera capabilities. However, and I'm not exaggerating in the slightest, I could not hold a call with someone for more then 3 minutes without the call failing midway through. Whats worse is that half the time, I didn't even realize the call had dropped because the iPhone wouldn't signal me it had even happened.
The reception issues were terrible. I went back to my 3GS running OS 4 and I didn't have any problems until I updated until 4.0.1 and then I had reception issues all over again. As soon as I decide if I'm going to wait for the 9780 or get the 9700 I will be done with the iPhone for quite sometime. Really frustrating that even with my 3GS which I had never had a problem with until 4.0.1 is now having the same issues as the iPhone 4 I traded in.
I will now get off my soap box and honestly wish you the best of luck and hope you don't have the issues I had/am having. - 08-11-2010, 08:31 PM #10

nice choice of ditching a real phone (BlackBerry) for a toy which looks nice for girls with all the gadgets....enjoy the touch screen fruitcake....tell me how u go on making a phone call when ur hands are dirty or you're driving

Oh wait...did I forget to mention that the iPhone's reception is worse than my 30$ Nokia phone? LOL - 08-12-2010, 01:08 AM #13
Good luck to you. We'll see you when you get back.

Enjoy your new phone. I was going to make fun of you for declaring it to strangers on a forum, but you got roasted pretty hard. So, I guess...have fun with your phone or whatever.

Best of luck to you, but I'm sure you'll be back. Just picked up a 9700 for my wife, she's tried the iphone and doesn't know what all the fuss is about.

Wow, leaving a 9700 for iCrap 4. That's just sad. At least he didn't buy a Torch. That would have been just as bad.

Blackberry owners are the most defensive bunch.
I own and love my blackberry as a messaging phone. But truth of the matter is it does not measure up on any other features.
I completely understand why people are looking elsewhere. Take a look at other platforms and the difference is HUGE... It's almost humorous to see how basic blackberry apps are. - 08-14-2010, 04:34 PM #21
All this makes me laugh. People posting 'good bye' posts because they're changing from Blackberry to this or that. Who. Cares.
And then the responding, "OMG!!11!! Have fun with your iToy...I mean iCrap...I mean iPhoney!!!"
I wish BB, Android, and iPhone would merge together and create the 'I A Black phone'. The best of all worlds.
All phones have their problems; all phones have their high points. Where iPhone excels, BB falls short of. Where BB excels, iPhone falls short.
Geez guys, he likes the iPhone. So what. - 08-14-2010, 05:52 PM #22

Are you guys serious?
iPhone 4 is better in terms of hardware, is also better in terms of its OS [even with the introduction of BB6], and has about 20 times more apps. Don't get me wrong, I love Blackberry, I have two BB's at the moment, but currently it's not managing to keep up with the competition, such as the likes of HTC and Apple. Bottom line is, iPhone 4 is better hardware and software, and BB has the upper hand with things like having a keyboard, and not suffering from dropped calls. To be honest not all iPhone 4's are affected by the poor signal, and it's comical that some shallow BB users who have absolutely no knowledge of the intricate details behind these phones come out with statements like, 'it drops calls, its crap'. The torch is supposed to be competing with the likes of the Desire, and the iPhone, bottom line is: it's awful. That means my next phone is going to be the iPhone 4 in white. I will still keep my Blackberry 9700, but my primary phone will be the iPhone.
People need to think twice before posting blind comments on here, please please, do your research.

There should be a thread just for users apparently divorcing their BBs. Perhaps with press conferences posted via youtube in that section.
@ CGI: I don't think most blackberry users are defensive. Probably getting annoyed with all the "I jus got the new Jeebus fone! OMFG it is the best thing evar!" threads.
