Default Unread Message Icon won't go away

Since a couple days, my Bold shows that I have 2 Unread Emails, however, this is not the case. I tried marking all prior messages as opened, as well as a battery pull, but it didn't fix it.
Is there any other solution I could try? I thought about deleting all messages stored on the device, but I really only want to take to this as a last resort.
    Appreciate the help,

    Ben

    Default Battery Pull

I had the same issue on my 9850. Quick battery pull and the notifications went away. I couldn't tell you why it happens, but it's very annoying

Have you checked the Saved Messages folder?

    1. check the main messages folder - scroll to top, menu-> mark prior read.
    2. check individual mailboxes, especially if you have any that do not appear in main folder
    3. check phone log - view then exit (missed calls can appear in messages)
    4. close all running apps (push notifications from apps all appear in messages)
    5. reboot.

Last restort might be changing to a different theme. Sometimes the stock theme can mess up.
