Trick when phone battery dies?
Hi Guys,
So last night the absolute worst thing that could happen to any Crackberry user is my phone battery went to red. I left my house at 7am and was out and about all the way til 2am at night...I was using pretty heavy usage all day, so my phone was pretty low around 11, and officially "TURNED RADIO OFF" so my phone was pretty much useless. I was suppose to stop somewhere on my way home, but my battery was totally drained. So from 11-1am I turned my phone off by holding the red button.
At 1:30am on my way home I turned the phone back on and it went to yellow battery, and gave me enough juice to send out like 10 text messages, and talk on the phone for 5 minutes. Just enough to let my friend know I was coming by to pick something up, and to get all the texts I missed during 4th of July.
Has anyone else ever done this? Why does this regenerate the battery? - 07-06-2012, 08:39 AM #2
It doesn't regenerate the battery, the phone is just reading the battery charge level wrong. Resetting it resets the reading.

When the radio turns off due to low battery, just dial 911, then close before the call gets trough and blackberry will turn the radio on for some time.

you realize that this is just plain stupid since current 911 systems can still attempt to connect a call thats disconnected like that. the local PSAP may still get notified of the 911 attempt even if the call doesnt go through. we get hundreds of 911 misdials per month from cell phones and its a drain on the emergency services trying to track down each "hang up". i would suggest NOT to do this.
