Is there a way to transfer contacts and other info from winmo to BB?
hello everyone. before anything, i would like to thank those of you who helped me out with my previous problems. Now that they are resolved and my data plan is on my phone i have to say, Blackberry is "where its at" (good).
My query today: Is there a program that can instantly (couple of mins =acceptable) transfer phone numbers and other such things from my old HTC touch diamond (windows mobile 6.1) to my Blackberry bold 9700?? - 01-06-2010, 06:03 AM #2
Can you get your contacts synced with MS Outlook? Pretty sure you can. If you do then the software that comes with your Blackberry will sync you to Outlook.

I believe you can do this with Desktop Manager.
Device Switch Wizard > "Switch from another device to a Blackberry device".

if that fails, you should be able to export using an excel spread to google, and google sync

I just tried to transfer a friends contacts from his Treo700 to his new 9700.... the computer didn't like the Treo, so I was unable to do it.
He ended up typing them in manually... I wish I knew the ms outlook trick 2 days ago.BIG UP BIG UP, ITS A STICK UP STICK UP

Yeah, ALL smartphones have at least one way to connecting to Outlook. Once your contacts are in Outlook, just export a CSV file and you can use that CSV file anywhere.
When I went from a Moto RAZR to my first Blackberry, I transferred from the Moto to Outlook, got my CSV, and imported that into my Blackberry via Desktop Manager.
What you should probably do after you're set with your Blackberry is install Google Sync. Get a Gmail account, or clear the contact list in your existing one and let the App upload all your Blackberry contacts to Google. Keep the app running, as it syncs up automatically.
Then every once in a while, just export the CSV out of Google and email it to your GMail account, archive it, label it.Sajan Parikh
