AT&T WiFi (such as at Starbucks)
I have a Bold 9700 (not purchased from AT&T) that I use on AT&T's network without any issues...well except one. When I connect to a wifi network called "attwifi" at Starbucks or Mcdonalds, etc... it connects me automatically. However, BB tells me I need to login to the network and accept the terms and conditions. So, each and every time I'm near an AT&T wifi network, I have to go to the web, click accept and then connect.
My understanding is with an AT&T branded phone, you don't have to do this. You connect automatically and it just seamlessly works. First of all, is this accurate information? Secondly, is there any way I can get my phone to do the same?
I've called AT&T and they're of no help whatsoever. They just say my phone wasn't purchased from them, so they can't help.
Any tips? - 11-03-2011, 06:24 PM #2
No it's the same on any wifi enabled device since it's a hotspot login page.

I never used to, but noticed awhile ago that it started prompting me.

Same as any wifi hotspot, just go through the browser to login and then you're all set. If it's on your home router, you'll need to try a few things, such as starting your blackberry up without the SIM and use wifi, then if it doesn't prompt you, put the sim back in and it should work. That is the first thing I did and it settled it.
