Someone help, 9700 os problems! need someone blackberry savvy :)
Will try to explain this the best I can without getting too confusing...
I have Blackberry Bold 9700 on Vodafone. I originally had OS 5, the newest one, until the leaked OS 6 came out. I am now currently on 6.0.0.358. I lost my Blackberry Messenger a while ago because I tried to reinstall and obviously it wouldn't as there's not a version of Blackberry Messenger for OS 6 I can download (if I am wrong about this please tell me as that would solve all my problems!)
So basically, that and other things included I would like to downgrade to OS 5 again, but I can't seem to. Ive googled and done everything I can, but as the computer I am using now isn't the one that I originally installed all my softwares on etc, I have none of the softwares on my computer. So when I try to go on Uninstall Programmes (to uninstall the ones I have and reinstall OS 5 as it says on the tutorial...) they aren't there. I have tried to redownload 6.0.0.358, so I can uninstall it and install OS 5 but I have literally tried everything and it doesn't work! It seriously doesn't help that I am using a Mac, have tried to do all of the above ^^ on my mum's windows computer but it just doesn't seem to be working.
I have googled wiping the blackberry but from what I can see there isn't one that wipes the software back to what it was originally, just data etc. The only thing that's been suggested is the JL_Cmdr or whatever it's called but it didn't work my the computer.
Basically all I want is just to get to back OS 5 as quickly as possible, I'm not too fussed about keeping my data.. I just want to get back to OS 5 and back to having blackberry messenger! Someone pleaseeee help!

Thankyou very much! - 01-07-2011, 06:34 PM #2
You need to use your Mum's computer. Download and install BBSAK. Download your carriers version of OS5 then install it.
Connect the BB then run BBSAK, wipe then install the OS5.Do as you would be done by and 12 pence to the shilling (or 100 cents to the dollar).

Actually this is easy.
To get back BBM, just go to app world and download. You should be able to. Also, there is no such thing as far as I know BBM fo OS5 or 6. Consider that as an upgrade.
To wipe the phone is easy. Check on siggy as I have made a simple step by step guide using BBSAK. Well I am posting from my BB so you can click on my nick and check my profile.
Remember use DM for backup. Always install the latest or whatever OS of your choice first before wiping. Wiping with BBsAK basically clears up everythingM I have my PIN. If you are having trouble, send me a PIN and I will reply asap

I have redownloaded bbm about a million times that was obviously the first thing I tried, it doesn't appear, and I've read several other useers have had the same problem when they've upgraded to OS 6 and redownloaded BBM. I will have a look at the step by step guide thankyou and will post my results. Anyone else had any experience with the OTA new BBM posted above?
