shuts off & locks after every call

My BB9700 has two issues, 1 I have a lock on it and every time i press the end button after a call it automatically locks and turns off the screen, 2 after having 2 bars on the main menu it shuts off meaning I do not have battery time. Can some help me with these issues????

I recently bought it during the summer of 2011 and it is on a prepaid plan, so i can not return to the company.

1. this happens because you have your device licked, every device and i literally mean every. locks itself automatically when a incoming call is answered.
2. not able to get what you mean.

update your OS to the latest one. to enjoy full BB experience
