Default Screen..... Cracked...

This phone is driving me NUTS, I havnt had it a barely a month and now the screen cracked, and I didn't even drop it or anything. Wasn't rough or anything....

the battery is still dying without warning, but its not as bad, and the OS has crashed and been stuck a couple times where I thought I would have to reload the OS again...

this is unbelievable, I have had a Curve and a Pearl, and those phones were great, no huge issues with the OS and the batteries lasted a great deal of time, and I have dropped both of them quite a bit and the screens NEVER broke...

Has Blackberry gotten worse? should I even buy a screen and replace this one or just sell it as is and work on getting an android or something... I've replaced my casing in the Curve to a white one so it couldn't be any different could it?

also my big question for this thread is, is there a possibility that China could make ripoffs for these phones? I am really afraid I might have bought one of those as I got it off of Ebay and the headphones DISINTEGRATED apon first use and I didnt even get a 2GB card which is supposed to come with these phones, I already have a 4GB so its not that big of a deal...

or is the Bold just a junk phone?

I didn't have any problems with my Bold when I had it, but then again I only had it for a week. I had a Curve 8310 too and the 9700 felt just as solid as the Curve.

Not sure what the problem is. I absolutely love my 9700. It's regarded as one of the best phones RIM ever released.

A few individuals on this forum have left their 9900 to go back to the 9700. I can't say enough good things about it. Sorry you are having issues.

9700 is really good, battery should last forever. If you're in the states check out gadgetfix on ebay. I'll bought a few replacement screens from them and they are really good!

So you think that its worth fixing and that I just have some bad luck? there is no way no one makes any elaborate knockoffs from china? cause this thing feels nice in many ways, in others it feels cheap..

Personally, I would buy a used one off the forums or Craigslist. Used prices are going from $100.00-150.00 depending on the condition. Good luck.

OP, I think you've just been unlucky. I've had my 9700 for 18 months now and never had a problem. Certainly is the best device I've ever had.

Like a previous poster said, many are going back to their trusty old 9700's from the 9900 so does'nt that say it all.

I really hope you can get it sorted.

Alan.

Why would I spend another $150 for another phone when I just bought this one for $300?

Likely used, or the store OP bought it from was selling it as new when in fact it wasn't.

Holy smokes! Didn't realize you had paid that much for the 9700! Yikes! That phone has been released almost 2 years!

Don't get all worked up. All I'm saying is that there is no way that I would pay 300.00 for a phone that has been available for almost 2 years. I love the 9700. I love it so much that I have purchsed it twice. Sold my original and realized I made a mistake, and purchased another on these forums.

001-111
002-111
and
004-111

all for the bold 9700

anyway I can tell without pulling the screen out first?
