    Default Rogers UMA on 9700/9000

I've been reading about UMA and from what I gather when you're connected you get free local (and long distance??) calling...my problem is that my friend has the Curve 8900 on Rogers and when his phone is connected to wifi, but when my 9700 or my gfs 9000 are connected they won't...I've searched my settings and can't find a thing

...I'm also on Rogers, could this be a phone plan thing

If your phone is 3G UMA does not work on Rogers, it has to do with the towers or 3G band ... Its in the ROGERS forums, I believe and goes in more detail there

I'm pretty sure that the 2G mode was tired already and it still doesn't work, as far as I know there is no way around it, it has something to do with the 3G band I believe, its not like they disable it, just there hardware can't support 3G and UMA... I don't know about Telus or bell, if they can use 3G phones ie) 9700 and UMA

RIM didn't put UMA on bold9000. Rogers doesn't support UMA on bold 9700 yet (or never).
I think 8900, pearl flip and one of the curve are the only ones support UMA from rogers
