it seems like there are a lot of defects with this initial batch of 9700's. many reports of sticky keys, broken keys, LCD problems, and software issues with youtube and other sites.
I ordered my unit on the 3rd of November and have not received my order yet. I made a HUP and had a great deal on my plan. I have called everyday like most of you guys concerning the stock of the units. each time i have been told my order has been process and waiting for the units to be sent to rogers before being shipped to me.
i have never had any issues with rogers before, but this is a first hand experience. I understand the units being backorder, but i feel that rogers should be a little bit more proactive in informing me that the units are backordered or a delay to receive the phone. now having said that, 3 to 7 business days is reasonable. now what would happen if i'm just a normal customer who sits there thinking the order is put through and then after 7 business days, the phone doesn't arrive. is that customer going to sit there thinking it's still arriving? I think rogers should have sent me a text, email, or phone call just out of courtesy to let me know that my order is delayed due to extenuating circumstances.
I don't know who is to point the finger towards. if the units are not ready to be released into the market, then don't market it.
all in all, i know i will be calling rogers once i receive my new 9700 and request for a credit for half a month of my bill as waiting two weeks without any notice is totally unreasonable and unsatisfactory for such a premier corporation.
I want to put forth to other members to call rogers to bombard them with the unsatisfaction of having to sit out and wait for the units without any word of our orders. taht is very unprofessional and lack of courtesy. i have done my part as a good customer waiting and waiting and waiting. I pay a good $50x12 = $600 a year for their services, and this is the least bit impressive for me.
i hope the phone gets to me by the end of next week. otherwise, i'm jumping ship to BELL.
