Default Reflash from Vodaphone to Orange?

We are moving our corporate users from Vodaphone to Orange and to save money on buying new handsets we are looking at converting Vodaphone 9700's to Orange 9700's

I have downloaded the latest version 6 firmware from Blackberry site for Orange UK and deleted the vendors.xml from apploader but when I restart the phone it still has the vodaphone intro and wallpaper on the phone.

I have attempted this twice now making sure backup device is disabled.

Anyone have any ideas what im doing wrong?

Just ignore the startup wallpaper, it is cosmetic only and doesn't change the way the phone works. All you need to do is put the new SIM in the phone. (You might also need to unlock for a different SIM). When the phone reboots and finds a signal you should see it show Orange as your network provider.

thank you for your prompt reply.

I have been unable to test this completely yet with an orange simcard as I have to unlock, would you recommend any code sites ?

I wasnt expecting to see any vodaphone branding on the phone only orange considering the os was upgraded with the orange branded version.....or does the branding not live inside the os upgrade? only the network details UMC and voicemail notification etc (reason for doing this. Orange say its needs to be a orange mobile for voicemail notifications to work)

The branding is hardware coded, meaning it cannot be removed or changed by the user. Orange might be right or wrong about the voicemail, but if you get it unlocked, you can then have it all setup. Freethisblackberry.com is a great site to unlock your blackberry on.

It is highly likely the phone will work as you want, regardless of its origins. Orange voicemail should be able to send appropriate notification to any phone.

For unlocking... although I am UK based, all my unlock contacts are in USA (it still works). In fact I only have direct experience for cellunlock.net - positive - but you should make your own decision. Visit our unlocking forum http://forums.crackberry.com/blackberry-unlocking-f157/ and look for those who have a long record of support and advice to members - then look to see who has indications of being a "real" business with phone contact and a proper street address available on their website (not a virtual business run from home or somewhere in asia but pretending to be in USA).
