Problems with download of jar. files

Dear friends,
I'm a new user of BB Bold 9700 and I was faced with the problem of download jar. format files on my BB through desk manager only alx. files could be downloaded.

What should I do and how can I install the jar. formated progs?

I do the following:

-Move the .jad & any applicable .cod files to my media card (usb mass storage).
-Navigate to the Media Folder, select Menu, Explore.
-Locate the .jad, Select, Menu & Open.

I made an install folder on my media card & place the .jads & .cods
there just to make them a little easier to find.

Hope that makes sense.
