ROFL. Love the hastily scrawled SB COMMUNICATIONS sign.

Wasn't the Oynx rumoured to have a trackpad too?

yea i think it should have a trackpad. maybe this is because of pre-release. maybe when the official release of the phone comes it will be trackpad.

Its hard to get a trackpad pre release right now, even almost impossible.

Everyone with a pre released ONYX has the trackball version of it. I'm sure soon we will see more of the trackpad version, but not yet.

The seller: Its a scammer, if you look at his feedback, he hasn't sold anything in months and he's been buying ridiculous things for like 5 bucks each to get an amazing 100% feedback and scam people.

He doesn't take paypal either. He takes money orders.

What he does is "not a scam", he tells you he has the phone, sells it to you for a ridiculous amount of money and then he takes like a month to sell you the phone (sometimes even more).

I hope this helps anyone who is interested in getting a pre release.

I'm just curious why did they (RIM) even bother with a trackball if it's going to eventually have a trackpad anyway?

I can't give you an accurate answer, because I don't know what RIM is up too at all, but I THINK it is because:

1) They made the phone with a trackball thinking that they would release it with it, and then after realizing that the 8520's trackpad was so good, they decided to change it.

or

2) They will sell both. A cheap version (probably without a camera too) and the regular one, with camera and trackpad...

One of the people that can really answer your question is CX

They didn't know if the technology was mature enough to put in a high end handset, as it turns out, it was, and just in time . . .

This point has been discussed on here before
