There is a section on crackberry that says how to fix a nuked BB.

Basically, download the OS you want, open app loader once OS is installed. Take battery out of phone and hook up to usb cable connected to your computer and hit next as soon as it shows your device is connected while it's rebooting. It's suppose to start loading the OS. Put the battery back in and it should be fixed after the OS load is complete.

Hopefully that's what is wrong and it fixes it.

The timing has to be percise. Keep trying until it locks on.

Hi There Folks.
The same thing happened to my Blackberry Bold 9900 and i called my service provider and was getting answers such as you have to buy a new phone or it has a battery problem or the phone has to be replaced!
Well i am glad that none of that is true!

You do not need to replace it,change the battery or go anywhere with it!
You can fix this issue at home by yourself!
I did it and so can you!
I have made a video on YouTube to guide you through a step-by-step process on how to get your blackberry smartphone back to life!
Check it out:

Leave a comment or give a thumbs up if you need any further assistance or if it works for you!

Thanks!

Your guide is a little misleading as it will take a bit longer than 5 minutes to get your phone back up and running and you do not need to use only your carriers software, you can use any OS once it is specific to your phone.

If you have tried everything on one computer, why not try it on a different computer and see if it'll work?

Unhappy Communication Port Selection NOT working?

Hi,

BOLD - RIP?

I'm getting this common red light on for a bit issue too then nothing. Its not been dropped, underwater or anything which would damage it's health. Not even a white screen. Installed OS, BB Desktop and got to the step where I have the Communication Port Selection in loader. Tried every combination of battery removed, not removed and plug into various USB ports etc. Get the red light but nothing shows on dropdown for Comm Port selection atall.

Red light was going out (when plugged into one port with the battery in) with about 5 seconds but now it stays on for at least 30 so somethings changed? Don't get a red light with battery out and plugged into a usb port?

Has anyone any ideas before i bin it?

PS Tried it with another battery. Drivers look fine too.

PPS - issue started yesterday when handset got really hot in my pocket? Unfortunately it's just under 18 months old into a 24 month contract with 02 so don't think they'll replace it after 12 months?
