Who do you think the launch carrier will be? AT&T? Vodaphone? Rogers?

My money is on Rogers. AT&T recently got the Bold and Javelin, Voda had the Storm... Rogers are due surely?

Dude, it hasn't even been finalized and still has to enter mass production... A more "realistic" date will be around february-march 2010.

The tour was announced way before the Onyx and it releases in July of this year.

And I got Rogers to give me 350 mins, unlimited evenings (starting at 6 pm) and weekends, 500 mb data, unlimited texts, picture and video messages all for 50 bucks a month plus tax. Pretty amazing right?

It was a hassle but polite asking got her to add the system access fees into the 50 dollar bill. Oh and I got 3 months of unlimited data as a bonus.
i saw a bell ad in the paper today comparing rates with rogers;

bell : 1gb data, 650 day time min, unlim eve+wkends for $46

same on rogers is $70

i have 6gb data + 700 min +free incoming+ r2r + unlim wkend + eve @ 5pm all for $70

but i dont use more than 2 gb max...time for a new call to retentions

bell is

But a bigger selling point in my plan was getting unlimited texts, pix, and video messages. I havent ever used more than 500 mb a month so I didnt mind and 350 daytime should cover me till 6 pm when its free.

You plan is really good but if you don't use that much, its a waste. Let retentions know that. Tell them you don't need that much data, and that you would rather have unlimited texts thrown in.

Don't be an *** though and threaten to cancel or harass them. My friend works at a rogers centre and he said they "star" belligerent or unpolite customers and so you are going to be screwed trying to get any deals.

If it went to field trial today it wouldn't release until the first week in November at the earliest.

It hasn't entered field trial with at&t yet therefore I wouldn't expect it until late November or December depending on when it finally does go into field trial.

It won't happen in September for a US release.

Production should be fully ramped up around September. Voda should get a release around Nov'ish as of right now. If pushed back, it wont be more then a month or 2.

I like the Onyx a lot but am also interested in the Magnum.

I certainly hope that the Onyx will not be a Voda exclusive and that all networks in the UK wiil get it.

There are more GSM carriers in the US than just Big Blue

So we're looking at a November release for the Onyx? I may have to hold off on the Onyx and just get the Magnum. My hardware upgrade is burning a hole in my pocket though.
