Need help with unlocking Blackberry Bold 9700!!
So my mobile carrier is T-Mobile but today i received an AT&T Blackberry Bold 9700 from a friend free of charge. I've read multiple places (mostly CB) that I can unlock the phone so I can use my T-Mobile SIM in the phone; because as of now when I insert the T-Mobile SIM the phone doesn't seem to read it, it just says no SIM found. I'm wondering if it's because it's not unlocked yet to use for T-Mobile? I have found out how to enter the unlock code, the whole "mepd" thing etc etc, but I need to receive an unlock code for the phone. Any suggestions on how I can do that? Cheapest way possible too please. If only they were free
Please help on how to do this step by step as I don't know anything about phones!!

You can order an unlock code instantly but the rogers device you have recieved will only work on 2G under mobile network options in manage connections. Then wait a minute or 2 once unlocked and it should register on the network. Also go into, options-advanced-tcp and delete the at&t apn settings.. after that go into options-advanced-host routing table > press menu > register now...

GNU/Linux distros of choice: Ubuntu, Mint (or anything based on debian that's still geared towards beginners and isn't too bloated).

After you type MEPD, what does it read next to "Network"?
