    Default MemoPad vs. Tasks

I just wanted to point out key differences between MemoPad and Tasks.

Here are the two benefits I've found using MemoPad vs. Tasks...

#1 - MemoPad allows you to store A LOT more text than Tasks when entering notes! I have tested both and MemoPad only truncated the text after more than 29K characters were entered. See 2nd post below for exact counts. I find when entering notes in Tasks on my PC (using Outlook 2007), I'm missing info (text is truncated) on my BB after I sync them! Of course Tasks allows you to set reminders, check off items that have been completed and this is very useful.

#2 - MemoPad has a "Find" feature within the note you saved. This is VERY useful for large amount of text so you can simply type in a word search and it will locate it for you and then find the next word you are searching for without having to scroll through the entire note ! Again, Tasks doesn't do this. Not sure why.

I would LOVE it if BB corrected this for Tasks btw! So that Tasks can do everything it does now but DOESN'T limit the text you use and has a "Find" or "Search" feature within each item. Lastly, allow Tasks to keep original formatting of text that I have in my Outlook 2007 (i.e., Bold, Underline, Color, etc.).

But then that would be in a perfect world.

Just thought I would point this out to others that may be interested.

After doing a quick Word Count in MS Word:

    - MemoPad allowed 29,841 characters with spaces.

    - Tasks allowed only 4,065 characters with spaces.

So there is a limit for both but MemoPad allows a lot more text than Tasks.

The BBNotepad doesn't have any limits in the amount of characters that could be entered in a text file (memo) and you could save those on the memory card
