    Default Long Battery Life?

I don't know who else isn't seeing this super battery life that people like Kevin are raving about but I have had my phone for about a week now and I have yet to get an entire day of battery life out of my phone. I am looking forward to having another Fuel Case for my 9700 like I did for my 9000. The only that is kinda nice is the fact that I did have a 9000 so that I would have a back up battery.

On average now I will take my phone off the charger at about 630 am and have to drop the second battery in at about 330 in the afternoon. I'm an engineer and work what you would consider a 9-5 so I'm not listening to music all day long or anything but the battery life that I am seeing on this is about what I saw on the 9000.

    Anybody else seeing this issue?

Same goes for me; 2 1/2 days without a charge, and I have 45 % left on the battery.

turn your brightness down to 10, make screen dim after 10 secs. turn off browser push and be sure to put your phone in standby when your are not using it. this should help significantly

from what i understand it controls the feed from the browser like rss, some apps etc and it constantly pushes it looking for updates. disabling it saves battery and doesnt affect email, bbm, or sms

also depends on how many charge cycles you are on your battery. The first few your battery will continue to improve

battery life is pretty good so far today is my first day and its still at 75% i came from a g1 so i thing anything will be better to me. oops make that 70 just checked it texted non stop from 12 to 2 30 ( took it off the charger at 12) 30 min convo, 10 min convo, another 5 min convo, then more texting, few calls that were about a few mins long, a bit more texting and alot of unlocking and checking the battery life threw out the day. it is now 11 pm and im at 70% im pretty impressed.

and later on im thinking about getting the 1750mAh battery just for that extra juice.

Agreed ... I noticed this with my last berry. After a full charge I would let the battery get low enough to turn off the cell radio before charging. Now 16 hours off the charger and I still have 4/5 battery bars left on my 9700!

same here. I fully charged until 8pm sunday nite and as of this post i am at 35% with very heavy use. Played pandora for an hour, been on the net constantly, and played a bunch of sillly games. I am pretty impressed since I usually wear out any phone of mine by the end of the day. I also haven't fully drained and then recharged yet so I expect it to get a little better. more then 2 days and i have 35% I also have the brightness set to 50 just like every other phone I have ever owned.

Make sure you don't have any apps running in the background. Hold down the BB menu button to check if you any unclosed apps running.

There should be only 5 main icons running at all times which are: Phone, Home Screen, Browser, Messages, and BBM.

You should definitely be getting at least 1 day of normal usage.

I got this device last Wednesday and after the initial charge it has asked me to charge it twice. So....almost one week, of steady use, with two full charges.
I do have it to automatically turn off at 11:00 p.m. and come back on at 3:00 a.m. All other settings are on as normal - haven't turned off push or anything else....one of the reasons I love Bberry is push.

I made it all day yesterday with it only dropping down to 60% charge. My Bold 9000 was usually needing plugged in at some point during the day with the same amount of use.

Far and away, the best battery life I've ever experienced on any phone. Leagues ahead of my 9000, and I'm using the exact same battery as I had in my 9000.

I followed instructions and drained the half battery completely and did an overnight full charge. Day 1 of somewhat heavy use and at least 1-2 hours of phone conversation left me with 2.5 bars by late night. I think there's a lot longer battery life here with inactive use and minimally more battery life with active use.

I guess the stats support this: 4.5 vs 6 hours talk time sounds like a big improvement in percentage terms (33.3%), but not so much in absolute talk time; on the other hand, stand by increase from 13 hours to 22 hours seems like a lot...and some people seem to be reporting more than a full day of standby time. I think my old Curve (got more than 24 hours without a recharge (or the previous version)...those were the days, if battery life was what you prized...but I think the 9700 is going to prove to be much more functional than the 9000. I don't think I ever had a device that ran out of battery as much as my experience with the 9000.
