Key pad light stays on (9700)
When charging the phone yhe screen has a clock that stays on and the key pad as well. The only way i can get it to sleep is to put it into the case it came with.

go to clock>options>When charging(you can choose do nothing, display clock, enter bedside mode)
do nothing obviously just shows nothing screen/keypad turns off
display clock is what it should be set at by default which lights up the keypad
and bedside mode shows the clock and no keypad light its very dim so it doesnt brighten up the whole room
it really annoyed me when i first got it but i was too tired to go through it, i figure it out yesterday lol - 03-01-2010, 10:43 PM #3
I've grown to like Bedside Mode, with the display type changed to flip clock. Actually I like all the Clock Faces except the default analog which I find hard to read, especially when trying to get myself up 2 hours earlier than my body would prefer.
Anyway, as bedaweed states changing the When Charging option to Bedside Mode in the Clock's Options will dim the screen and have the keypad lights off.
Scroll further down in these Options to the Bedside Mode section. Make sure you have Disable LED to Yes and Dim Screen also to Yes to ensure the desired effect.
And you might want to change the Sound Profile option there as well. Mine is on Active Profile as I have a customized Vibe profile set up. If you have your ringer on, you might change this to Silent, Vibrate, All Alerts Off, etc.
