Incoming call problem
I updated the OS on my BB and I saw some problems with the incoming calls. All call from abroad appears only as incoming calls. Never mind that I've got them in my contact list. I have also set a special ringtones or pics. So, my BB doesn't recognize the calls.

That happens to me too.....it's very annoying when you're trying to screen calls but you want to take calls from abroad.
I called AT&T and they said that because the incoming call is not from a US source it won't display. That sounded like nonsense but I didn't pursue it further. - 01-03-2010, 04:57 AM

Have you called your carrier? Perhaps they can assist.

ANI (CallerID) can be a real pain when bouncing between carriers, especially internationally. If everything is configured correctly between the two carrier's switches, an international call should show up as a +, then the country code and then the phone number. If not, then you can get all kinds of different truncated phone numbers.
Down here, we don't have area codes, so our phone numbers are only seven digits. I store all my phone numbers in my address books as 10 digits, +297 and the seven digit phone number, so that I can use my phone book when I'm on a different island. The problem is that Setar, one of the carriers here only delivers seven digits on an inbound local call. Some phones will right justify the phone number and attempt to match as many digits in the phone book as are delivered in ANI so these phones deliver names correctly. The POS Nokia that I have for work doesn't do this however so the incoming call won't match the phone book. I have to either store numbers twice, one with the country code and one without it or else live without names on inbound calls. Really a pain.
