Default I want my Bold 9700 to die

I've been using my Bold 9700 for a couple yrs. My son dropped it in the toilet a few times. He also spilled milk and coke on it, but this bad boy JUST DOES NOT DIE. I want a new BB 4G phone. Something like the Torch 9810 or Bold 9900, but I feel guilty to buy another phone when the 9700 is still in perfect working condition.

I am thinking of buying a new 9900 off contract and trade-in my 9700 with RIM to get $100 back. I know I can sell it on CL for 100 bucks easy, but it might die anytime due to so many incidents. Don't want to upset the buyer.

Should pull the trigger or should I wait for the new phone coming out soon?

get the new bold 9900 or the 9790, keep the 9700 as spare, you might need it back, new bolds have had issues with battery life, build qualities, software glitches etc etc etc...

Good suggestion.

I placed my order for a 9810. I like the option of both big touch screen + physical keyboard. I'll keep the 9700 as spare.

Note: Seriously, the Bold 9700 is one of the best phone I ever had. I just get bored.

I think that there are 2 options - sell it or use it as a spare device.
You can also get it unlocked and use it while on vacations and such with prepaid sim cards.

The 9700 is an extraordinary phone. Battery life is eternal and its size is totally perfect. I went for the 9900 for the touch screen, but miss the size of the 9700. Now, the keyboard of the 9900 is truly awesome and the width of the phone is the price to pay.

Keep the 9700 as a spare and go for the new phone. If the carrier says "4G", in reality, it's 3G, or 3.5G. Unlock the 9700 for prepaid SIM use too!

I agree keep phone as spare, that's what I plan to do when I decide to not use mine anymore. I've spilled hot chocolate on mine, tea, coffee, water n even a glass of Drambuie n its still rockin! Only thing is my space bar is almost completely white from use lol
