One thing that may make this tutorial a little bit better is to cut the pieces of tape out with a hole puncher rather than a razor blade. This will allow you to get perfect circular uniformed pieces (if it matters at all). Just my thoughts.

Doesn't really matter too much, but its a good idea. It would have saved my desk some razor marks that's for sure.

I have completed this as well and my trackpad wobbliness is a thing of the past. A note though, I used electrical tape (2 pieces on top of each other give me the right thickness) instead of scotch tape.

I used this tutorial and sure enough my trackpad wobble is gone! But the issue I'm now facing is that when I press the "back" or the "BB" button sometimes the phone thinks that I've pressed the trackpad button. Does this simply mean I've put too many pieces of scotch tape? Or is it that the pieces are too big? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You put too too many pieces for your trackpad. It depends on how drastic you wooble is. Really bad needs like 5 or 6 pieces. Just alil bit of a wobble I would say 4. Definatly take out a couple of tape strips. I will update the Front Page with this info.

Believe it or not, some people don't want to keep exchanging or have reasons they can't. I exchanged 3 times but was given 6 different devices to look at. Each one had some variation of trackpad wobble or issues that were worse.

Could I live with the wobble? Sure, I was, until this fix was posted. Now I'm completely happy with my handset and didn't have to do yet another exchange, which I'm out of the time period for anyway. Don't feel like dealing with a warranty exchange to get a device that may have issues that are worse than a simple trackpad wobble. Telling everyone that they should simply exchange isn't always the answer, which is why some people have found workarounds to their different issues. Yes, we all should have received phones that were exactly the same on build quality. We didn't.

Meh. This is getting to be as pointless a discussion as why some people choose not to have data plans!
