How to get EDGE instead of edge on TMO?

Hi everyone.

Having a problem that is really bugging me for the last 6 hours.
I have a ROGERS (unlocked of course) 9700 phone.
Previously, i was WITH t-mobile on a contract plan, that had me running the BIS properly (emails, bbm).

I have just switched over to the Monthly 4G $50 plan from Tmobile, + the $10 BIS plan.

NOW, I can only get edge on my phone. I have tried wiping my phone, calling tmobile technicians, manually downloading service books, but I cant get EDGE (or my BIS running).

HOWEVER, When I insert my older sim, I get BIS and data etc. all working perfectly fine.
I dont seem to get it, or do not know what to do in this situation.

so the phone was not disassociated from your old sim and associated with your new one

you need to DE-ACTIVATE your old sim and then put your phone on the new SIM. (or at least remove the phones IMEI and PIN from it)

A phone can only be tied to one sim, and your old sim has that phone tied to it.

Hi there.

My previous TMobile acct has been cancelled.
I pop my new sim card into my 9700, and still the same problem.
I am only getting edge instead of EDGE, where as my previous tmobile account had EDGE working.

Lastly, I dont know if this could be it..
However, I live in an area that Tmobile does not cover.
I am told this is an AT&T or Verizon zone, meaning Tmobile works off their towers.
Could this be the problem? Once again, my previous sim card worked perfectly at my location in Northern Michigan, however, my new prepaid monthly 4G plan wont recognize EDGE.

Please Crackberry, Any more help would be greatly appreciated!

It sounds like the device isn't properly activated on the TMobile BIS or else the data plan isn't properly set up to include BlackBerry Data (despite the carrier initial indicating that it is).
