you dont have to push the 2 metal things thats not how it works.... you put your 2 thumbs on oposite sides at the top of the phone and push the cover off

the two small metal things are charging contacts, flip the phone over so the screen is down, place your thumbs towards the bottom of the phone cover and apply slight pressure and push, it will come right off

And to avoid the same issues with pressing buttons you don't want, just press the lock button before hand. turn it over and squeeze away.

Chances are if you're removing the cover, you're pulling the battery... so a few mispushed buttons won't matter

    Still a good idea though

I have to ask - what happened to the clear sticker on the back that shows HOW to remove the back?

The fact that it's COMPLETELY different than other units in the past, makes it an issue for some people. It does take a few tries to get the hang of it. But we Crackheads already had the scoop of course- it was posted a few weeks before release!

I feel that I have to reply to your comment. I'm very tech savvy and YES it took me a long time to take out the battery on my new 9700 that I received today so don't be sarcastic about it. It ain't just sliding the cover off. You have to apply pressure without cracking the screen on a brand new unit. Trust me, I'm not only one with the same problem. If it was easy to you, then kudos to you!
