How do i know if a pixel has blown or its just frozen?
Hi Guys,
Had my BB for 3days now and woke up this morning to find on a white screen i can see that a pixel as small as they may be, is black, ive tried turning the bb on and off but to no avail?
Q1, how will i know if its frozen or blown?
Q2, if it has blown will the store where i purchased the bb from replace it?
Thanks - 09-17-2010, 04:23 AM #2.

Well, I would give this thread a lil' time today (some of the fine folks here might have some other replies that might resolve your issue that I am not aware of since I have not had this happen to any of my phones).
If no resolution is found here shortly, then when you go to return your phone, if I were you, I would not mention that I am returning it because of the dot. I would mention the other problem that you are having with your phone..... (You know, the way it seems to reboot unexpectedly all the time?)

The black dot you're seeing is normal, every BB has that. Naah, just kidding, bro.
It's blown, as far as I'm concerned. I'm sorry to tell you. If a pixel is EVERY color (red, green or blue) it's frozen, EXCEPT for black. That means it's pretty messed up.
EDIT: I don't know how stores handle these kinda situations with phones, but with TV's, here in Holland stores only help you if you have 5 or more blown up pixels.Last edited by Costumed; 09-17-2010 at 02:28 PM.

I would definitely mention both problems when attempting a return. The dead pixel would point to a hardware issue, as the constant rebooting may lead them to believe it's only a problem with the software. You should have no problem getting it swapped if you mention both.
Not sure if you already knew this or not, but you cannot download applications onto your memory card. Just letting you know since you said you were waiting on it to arrive before installing apps. - 09-20-2010, 06:31 AM

I would return it, unless they can resolve the issue. (Have you installed any apps yet?)
