Help!!! with swapping out 9700
I am using a mac with my 9700, I normally sync my contacts and calandar with google. I haven't ever used the blackberry desktop manager I've done google sync for everything. I recently had to swap out devices due to a screen defect. I'm going to be swapping out devices today or tomorrow. Can someone walk me step by step what to do first, second and third etc. I don't want to make a mistake and risk losing all my data. Sorry if this is a dumb question. But I wanna make sure I do this right. It was a no brainer when using android just input your gmail account info and presto it was all right there.
Thanks so much in advance!

Hi
Not sure if you're using Desktop Manager for Mac, but here's the normal process:
1. Connect phone to Mac and Run DM
2. Look for "Backup & Restore" option and back up the phone (ensure you select all options for a full back up)
3. Once the file is saved safely on your Mac, go ahead and exchange the phone- when you get the new phone, you will only have to 'restore' the phone content using the same option. The file you would use would be the same backup you created with the pre-exchange phone
Hope this helps- apologies if the Mac version of DM is not the same though...
Good Luck!
edit: i'm not sure if there is a method to sync all details with Google Synch- but i advise you use the DM method for this particular purpose, since you are surrendering the phone and getting a new one.Last edited by gunat; 01-04-2010 at 06:26 AM.
