Default Help! Problem with OS!

Hi everyone,

Basically I had a problem on my bb where it kept resetting numerously and i did a bit of research on it and found out i should wipe it and reinstall another firmware....

So i wiped it using JL_Cmder and once it was done it came up with a 507 error if im correct and Desktop manager told me to update it.... now i updated it i cannot use the browser or the facebook app with my wifi...

What i think has happened is that the DM has installed the vendor file aswell...
So when i try install another OS (OS 6.0.0.534) through apploader it only shows me the applications i can delete, which has left me dumbfounded!

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the OS on the computer but no luck...

If anyone could help PLEAASE! By the way im on OS v.6.0.0.570)

Mizta!

You have to manually delete the vendor file unless the update was pushed to DM by your carrier.

Try this:

Search for vendor.xml within Hidden and System Files, and also include subfolders. Start within C:\ and let it search. It might take a while, but it'll either turn up one, two or three files. Delete all of them. Sounds like you were missing servicebooks, might want to resend those and re-register under Host Routing Table via Options.

Also, patience is best when posting on public forums, not everybody is on the computer to check out every thread.

Ok so i upgraded to the firmware and i shrinked it and put it on the 9700... Now i keep getting the same problem as before where my phone keeps turning off and on.

This only seems to happen once or twice a day it restarts randomly like i did a battery pull, its quite annoying!

Could anyone shed light on this problem? i changed the os6 version to hopefully tackle this problem but hasnt worked!

P.S this only started happening once i changed the housing for the 9700. i've made sure all screws are tight enough...

Thanks Miz!

Pity you didn't mention that you had opened up the phone in the first place!

Obviously, something has happened during that process to cause the rebooting issue. It's nothing to do with the OS.

Carefully open it again and make sure everthing goes back correctly and then hopefully all will be well. If not, it's the repair shop! Your warranty, if any, will now be void.

Hi,

So from the last post i figured i must of done something wrong whilst replacing the case and what happened is that a Little ribbon on the side near the "on /off button" under the casing had the insulation missing, therefore everytime i applied a slight pressure it would reboot.

Simple fix was open it up and replace the insulation tape!
Seems to be working fine for now! Fingers crossed!
