Help bb bold 9700 problem urgent!!!!

Well Ive just got a blackberry bold 9700 from my brother in law. Its white and looks nice however when i switch it on it it works. Randomly a white screen comes up and i have to press the lock button twice to stop it for a bit. Is there any way to stop it completely. By the way im on os6 and juss upgraded

did you wipe the whole phone before updrading?
I would recommend erasing the device to 507 and reloading the os from scratch

If it's a white screen with nothing on it, it's likely hardware. But if it keeps displaying something on the screen like an error, reloading the OS works.
