GSM or CDMA or both
I can't seem to find whether the Onyx is a GSM, CDMA or both. Does anyone know?

Man am I happy this thing is going to be a GSM device. From the looks of it, it seems like it's going to be a comfortable use. Even more comfortable than my current Bold.

Global?
I hate how RIM has branded their GSM/CDMA hybrid devices as 'World Editions', thus creating this perception amongst CDMA users. GSM phones are "global". Only a handful of carriers in North America support CDMA. As an AT&T user, why would I want or need a CDMA chipset taking up space in my BB?
Moreover, what's with the love for CDMA? Unless you live in an area not covered by GSM, whats the appeal? Shorter battery life? Poorer voice quality? Days-late voicemail notifications?Last edited by mwender; 06-24-2009 at 02:51 PM.
