Default A few issues

First I noticed once in awhile my led indicator will stop flashing a hard rest normally will fix but I don't want to have to reset my phone all the time. Second is a sms issue after I have been texting someone maybe after 10 txt the msg will be in my inbox unopened an it won't let me open it. A hard reset fixes it but like I said I don't want to reboot all the time. Third issue is that my stand by key normally turns my screen off but sometimes it just dims it, what's going on with my 9700?

Which OS is your 9700 running on?

Try upgrading to the 5.0.0.862. Your issues should be fixed after the upgrade

I'm running 9700/5.0.0.714 but I just moved so my pc is packed up...could the led problem be due to a app?

I think by design the red blinking LED only flashes for 15 minutes or so, unless another new message is received then it'll flash for another 15 minutes. Restarting the phone also resets the 15 minute flash-time.

Again, this is how i THINK it works. There might be a setting to alter how the LED reacts to messages/missed alerts, but I haven't found one (I haven't looked very hard either, to be honest).

Maybe someone more versed on the red flashy light of goodness could shed some more light on this for you.

I don't think there is anything wrong with your phone that is causing this, because mine has always only flashed for a set period of time (over all the OS builds I have used), and on .862, it still behaves this way.

You are right son, that's how it works.

And your OS is fine, 714 is one of the best OSes released for the BB

Yeah I've noticed that when I would be at work an I would have a green led but have msgs so that makes sence but The led an back light seemed to work after I unpluged it from the charger but I still get the sms problem once in awhile.

The others are totally right I totally forgot about the fact that the LED indicator stops Blinking after 15 minutes. However, ragarding your SMS issue and dimmed backlight, try upgrading your OS.

You have nothing to lose by upgrading and it should fix your issues
