contacts on BB9700

Hi!
A friend of mine has BB9700, and he has a problem. First of all he is not computer friendly guy , and this is a reason i'm trying to help him. He tried to synchronize the phone book with his email account, and now he has a list of contacts, where same contacts shows some times: once with the first name and phone number, another line with name, surname and email address, but without phone number, and following. Is there any application which can solve this problem?

The best way to backup is not to sync, but to do regular backups (weekly or every 3rd day if you change or add information daily) with desktop manager, that way, you avoid the chances of missing or duplicate information/contacts.

The problem is no just duplicates, but these are same people, but each one has different details. For example i have John Smith and Jon Smith, it's a same person, but once it has only phone number and on the other record just email. So i need to remove all these duplicates...

Sim cards suck, simple as that. For contact info each entry can only hold one piece of information, such as John Smith - 208-555-5555... John Smith - john.smith@email.com... John Smith - JohnnyBoy Blue... etc. So if the syncing going on is with the Sim card and not the phon memory this is what's going on andwhy, nothing can change that. If it's not a Simcard issue then it's an incompatibility problem between the Email client and BB software. BackBerry is famous for being horrific when syncing with Outlook calendar & contacts. Only Gmail contact sync works on mine, everything else BLOWS CHUNKS! I don't use my outlook or Mac email clients to sync with my BB because I've tried and it "effed" everything up!

ok, so finally i found a solution. There is an app on BB app store, named Duplicates remover. Somehow it founds some contacts where i had some different details but it is a same person. Also it did for me one more thing: i had 3 or 4 four contacts with mistakes in the names, so now this app found it for me
