Clock Not In Bedside Mode - Phone Shuts Down After Alarm Goes Off

So yes; a few minutes after my alarm clock goes off in the morning my phone goes into shut down mode and turns off. Generally speaking I set my alarm, turn my phone off overnight, and then the phone comes back on when the alarm goes off. Back in the day, the phone used to stay on. This random shut off thing did not always used to happen (If I had to guess I'd say it started happening to me when I updated to OS 6 - I'm a Tmobile customer). It used to only happen when I pressed "snooze" which was really annoying b/c it would shut down and then the snooze alarm wouldn't go off. Now it is doing it whether I hit snooze or not (this morning I watched it go into shut off mode maybe 2-3 minutes after the alarm went off). I checked to see if I'm in "bedside mode" and I am not.

I have NO idea what's causing this or what to do. All my online searches have been fruitless. Any help appreciated.
