    Default can't use bluetooth

so, i recently decided i could nolonger continue using my old pearl until the BB10's are released, so i purchased a 9700 from kijiji to hold me over.

it has the latest version of OS 6 on it.

when i go to setup / bluetooth, my only option is on/off.

i've read ( and seen on youtube tutorials) that this screen is supposed to have more than this. it seems like a whole field is unpopulated.

the reason this is a concern to me, is i can't seem to follow the steps needed to pair with my playbook/BB bridge.

is there anything i can do to pair with my PB, or get this field populated?

thanks for any effort to help.

I am on OS 5 but when I go to bluetooth, I get a screen that says on top bar "bluetooth: disabled", and a windows that says, add device, search for a device or listen.." Then 3 buttons, search, listen, or cancel.

You don't get anything similar to search for a near by device?

Nope. I don't have any of those options. My fiancee has a 9700 with OS5 and her screen looks like what you described. Mine does not.

I've attached a pic of the screen I have when in bluetooth connections. As you can see, it is very empty. Sorry for the blurred picture, as it was taken on my playbook.

I'm only guessing at this point but can you turn it on, at the option screen you see. Then use your windows machines to detect the bluetooth. Does that work?

Sorry man, hopefully someone with OS 6 will comment.

I have exactly the same problem since re-installing a new hybrid OS6. It hasn't bothered me too much since I hardly used the bluetooth functions anyway.

In my case it worked fine on other OS installations so maybe you could try a fresh install? I don't want to do that since the hybrid I am using now fixed my network drop problem which was way way worse to deal with.

when i turn blueooth on, and have it right beside my playbook, which is in find and be found mode, nothing happens. they don't find eachother.

the playbook also puts up a barcode for me to scan with my phone, but the phone doesn't allow me to do that either......

i'm really hoping to get this solved so i can use the bridge function.

Nice to see ARGOS logo big fan TOO
Would you consider doing a wipe and reload you may need to bring your phone back to original factory settings and then reload the OS again...
Anytime i have purchased 9700s or 9780s from kijiji i always do a wipe and load i like to get them back to original settings...
They always seem to work the way they should after doing that...
    Its worth a try...
