Can't get a Radio Signal anymore on my 9700
Hello All,
I have recently recovered my nuked BB 9700 -thanks to this site - OS v5.0.0.602. All is good except when I try to activate my radio signal, my phone crashes and i have to completely reload the OS. I have tried hard and soft reboots to no avail and for whatever reason, i don't have a general options tab in my security settings to do a mobile radio reset. I'm not sure that would work anyway.
I talked to ATT and they can't help me, said to try a new battery or something is wrong with "the device". A little background, my phone did get completely wet, so...it's quite possible that my "device" is dead. My battery is completely charged and my sim card is fine and works in other phones.
Before I go out and spend more money on a new phone, is there anyone who can help me resolve this issue as i was too smug to buy insurance because i would never drop my phone in water? - 08-07-2010, 11:51 PM #2
Tough to say... I'd wipe the device and old software off the computer. Then reload a fresh OS. There higher leaked version of OS as well. 5.0.0.862.
If that doesn't work then I'm not sure

like smakberry sad, but i would go for older OS, presumably if u know ur phone history, go for the original OS, the if its ok, upgrade... +if u can afford, buy urself another fone, cause if this 1 was drowned, probably will be choking for the rest of its life even if u fix it all the way...

Good luck!
Sorry if my statement sounded harsh, but we've seen this so many times on here.
When a device gets wet, unless it's immediately and properly dried out, chances are it's toast... period.
Sure, you can try the advice offered above, but do so expecting the worst.

I have to go with Phil on this one. I'm sorry to say, but you now own a $500 brick.

yea ill agree with Phill. if you tried the OS reloading many times and it still isnt working, i would think its a hardware issue.
